ASIAN MEN REVEAL SECRETS TO KEEPING A WOMAN HAPPY

Asian men share tips on how to catch a woman and keep her happy.

For generations Asian women learned how to treat a woman by following rules laid down by Chinese philosopher Wang Xu in his book Maxims for Teaching Men. Now they’ve taken his words of wisdom that have been passsed down fro more than 2,000 years and updated them to deal with women in 2012.

Here are the winning recommendations for Western men who want to trade be successful in love and marriage:

1) TREAT HER LIKE GOLD – Your woman is a queen. Remember that your wife comes first - before you, your job, your outside interests or even your mother!

2) MORNING RITUAL. Get up in the morning before your woman does. Make sure to write her a special love note, something short and sweet – and hide it in place that she’ll find it later in the day. Make it short, loving, funny, touching… just let her know you are thinking of her and that you love her.

3) TALK. Don’t sit there like a lump on a log. Talk to her. She wants to know how you are feeling, what you are thinking and what you are doing! Don’t just grunt and mumble. Never, ever. She’s your best friend, so talk to her.

4) LISTEN TO HER. Even more important – listen to her. Women like to talk about their day, their problems, their concerns etc. Listen to her. Really listen. She can tell if you’re only half-listening. Give her your full attention.

4) BE AT HOME. Make sure you come home to be with her. You don’t have to stay late at work EVERY night. You don’t have to meet your buddies and watch sports games EVERY sunday. Sepnd time with your wife.

5) COMPLIMENT HER. Is that so hard? If she looks good – tell her. If she smells good – tell her. If she’s great in bed – tell her. Who doesn’t like compliments?

6) MAKE HER DINNER. Yeah, you can learn how to do this. Why not? She’s working too… it’s 2012. Learn to make a few quick meals and if she’s working late – or even if she’s home with the kids – or just because… make her a delicious meal. You have to make her life easier too.

7) LET HER HANG WITH HER GIRLFRIENDS. If she wants to have a girls night out – let her. If she wants to go away for a girl’s weekend in the Caribbean – let her. You can trust her. If she has fun, she’ll come back happier.

8) LET HER HANDLE THE MONEY. You make the money, but so does she. Women are generally better with money, so let her handle the finances. She can give you an allowance every week and that’s all you have to worry about. This way you don’t have to get involved with what she spends. You just spend what she gives you.

9) ESPN/VIDEO GAMES – LIMITS. Limit yourself to 5 hours total a week in video games/sports shows. You don’t want your girlfriend/wife to be a video game widow. Set a limit for the week and when you meet it – turn off the TV and put away the console.

10) OBEY. Do whatever she says. Don’t question it – it’s not worth it. ”Yes, dear” is the most important phrase you will ever know. You are here to make her happy – just do what she wants.

11) TAKE YOUR TIME IN BED. What’s the rush? Try to include a little foreplay. Try to seduce her, try to – make it longer than a stop at a toll booth. Think about pleasing her for once!

12) KNOW FASHION. Not all women love fashion, but many do. Get a subscription to Elle and Vogue and keep up on the latest trends.

13) GROOM YOURSELF. Just because you’ve won her heart doesn’t give you the right to be a slob now. Keep yourself clean, trim your hairs and stay in shape. No woman wants a big old beer gut.

14) CLEANING. This may be the most important thing to know. Clean the bathroom, kitchen, house or apartment whenever possible. She will love you for it. If you have a saturday off – scrub the floors. It will be worth it – trust me.

Follow ALL these steps and you will be happy for the rest of your life!

Wow... I'm old and I have never met a guy who does any of the above things.

Except groom himself for his mother. That's about it. My ex even kissed his mother - on the mouth. One reason why he's my ex.

It's nice to treat a woman like the Queen, But does this mean we are likely to cheat on the wife if another woman comes around and treats us like Kings? Surely there's gotta be a balance

24 Foods That Can Save Your Heart

1. Fresh Herbs

Fresh herbs make many other foods heart-healthy when they replace salt, fat, and cholesterol. These flavor powerhouses, along with nuts, berries — even coffee — form a global approach to heart-wise eating. Read on for 23 more delicious ways to fight heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes.
Fact
: Rosemary, sage, oregano, and thyme contain antioxidants.

Black Beans

Mild, tender black beans are packed with heart-healthy nutrients including folate, antioxidants, magnesium for lowering blood pressure, and fiber — which helps control both cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
Tip
: Canned black beans are quick additions to soups and salads. Rinse to remove extra sodium.

Red Wine and Resveratrol

Salmon: Super Food
A top food for heart health, it's rich in the omega-3s EPA and DHA. Omega-3s lower risk of rhythm disorders, which can lead to sudden cardiac death. Salmon also lowers blood triglycerides and reduces inflammation. The American Heart Association recommends two servings of salmon or other oily fish a week.
Tip:
Bake in foil with herbs and veggies. Toss extra cooked salmon in fish tacos and salads.

Tuna for Omega-3s

Tuna is a good source of heart-healthy omega-3s; it generally costs less than salmon. Albacore (white tuna) contains more omega-3s than other tuna varieties. Reel in these other sources of omega-3s, too: mackerel, herring, lake trout, sardines, and anchovies.
Tip:
Grill tuna steak with dill and lemon; choose tuna packed in water, not oil.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

This oil, made from the first press of olives, is especially rich in heart-healthy antioxidants called polyphenols, as well as healthy monounsaturated fats. When olive oil replaces saturated fat (like butter), it can help lower cholesterol levels. Polyphenols may protect blood vessels.
Tip:
Use for salads, on cooked veggies, with bread. Look for cold-pressed and use within six months.

Walnuts

A small handful of walnuts (1.5 ounces) a day may lower your cholesterol and reduce inflammation in the arteries of the heart. Walnuts are packed with omega-3s, monounsaturated fats, and fiber. The benefits come when walnuts replace bad fats, like those in chips and cookies – and you don't increase your calorie count.
Tip:
A handful has nearly 300 calories. Walnut oil has omega–3s, too; use in salad dressings.

Almonds

Slivered almonds go well with vegetables, fish, chicken, even desserts, and just a handful adds a good measure of heart health to your meals. They're chock full of vitamin E, plant sterols, fiber, and heart-healthy fats. Almonds may help lower LDL cholesterol and reduce the risk of diabetes.
Tip:
Toast to enhance almonds' creamy, mild flavor.

Edamame

These green soybeans are moving beyond Japanese restaurants, where they're a tasty appetizer. They're packed with soy protein, which can lower blood triglyceride levels. A half cup of edamame also has 9 grams of cholesterol-lowering fiber — equal to four slices of whole-wheat bread.
Tip:
Try frozen edamame, boil, and serve warm in the pod.

Tofu

Make soy protein the main attraction more often at dinnertime by cooking with tofu instead of red meat. You gain all the heart-healthy minerals, fiber, and polyunsaturated fats of soy — and you avoid a load of artery-clogging saturated fat.
Tip:
Chop firm tofu, marinate, then grill or stir-fry, going easy on the oil. Add tofu to soups for protein with no added fat.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are a hearty, healthy substitute for white potatoes for people concerned about diabetes. With a low glycemic index, these spuds won't cause a quick spike in blood sugar. Ample fiber, vitamin A, and lycopene add to their heart-healthy profile.
Tip:
Enhance their natural sweetness with cinnamon and lime juice, instead of sugary toppings.

Oranges

This sweet, juicy fruit contains the cholesterol-fighting fiber pectin — as well as potassium, which helps control blood pressure. A small study shows that OJ may improve blood vessel function and modestly lower blood pressure through the antioxidant hesperidin.
Tip:
A medium orange averages 62 calories, with 3 grams of fiber.

Swiss Chard

The dark green, leafy vegetable is rich in potassium and magnesium, minerals that help control blood pressure. Fiber, vitamin A, and the antioxidants, lutein and zeaxanthin, add to the heart-healthy profile.
Tip:
Serve with grilled meats or as a bed for fish. Saute with olive oil and garlic until wilted, season with herbs and pepper.

Carrots

The latest research on carrots shows these sweet, crunchy veggies may help control blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of developing diabetes. They're also a top cholesterol-fighting food, thanks to ample amounts of soluble fiber — the kind found in oats.
Tip:
Sneak shredded carrots into spaghetti sauce and muffin batter.

Barley

Try this nutty, whole grain in place of rice with dinner or simmer barley into soups and stews. The fiber in barley can help lower cholesterol levels and may lower blood glucose levels, too.
Tip:
Hulled or "whole grain" barley is the most nutritious. Barley grits are toasted and ground; nice for cereal or as a side dish. Pearl barley is quick, but much of the heart-healthy fiber has been removed.

Oatmeal

Oats in all forms can help your heart by lowering LDL, the bad cholesterol. A warm bowl of oatmeal fills you up for hours, fights snack attacks, and helps keep blood sugar levels stable over time — making it useful for people with diabetes, too.
Tip:
Swap oats for one-third of the flour in pancakes, muffins, and baked goods. Use oats instead of bread crumbs in cooking.

Flaxseed

This shiny, honey-colored seed has three elements that are good for your heart: fiber, phytochemicals called lignans, and ALA , an omega-3 fatty acid found in plants. The body converts ALA to the more powerful omega-3s, EPA and DHA.
Tip:
Grind flaxseed for the best nutrition. Add it to cereal, baked goods, yogurt, even mustard on a sandwich.

Low-Fat Yogurt

While low-fat dairy is most often touted for bone health, these foods can help control high blood pressure, too. Milk is high in calcium and potassium and yogurt has twice as much of these important minerals. To really boost the calcium and minimize the fat, choose low-fat or non-fat varieties.
Tip
: Use milk instead of water in instant oatmeal, hot chocolate, and dried soups.

Foods Fortified With Sterols

Want the heart-healthy power of vegetables in your milk or on toast? Margarine, soy milk, or orange juice can deliver — when they're fortified with cholesterol-fighting sterols and stanols. These plant extracts block cholesterol absorption in the gut and can lower LDL levels by 10% without affecting good cholesterol.
Tip
: Consume at least 2 grams of sterols a day.

Coffee

Coffee and tea may help protect your heart by warding off type 2 diabetes. Studies show that people who drink 3-4 cups a day may cut their risk by 25% — and even decaffeinated coffee works. Caution is due, however, for those who already have diabetes or hypertension; caffeine can complicate these conditions.
Tip:
Choose black coffee or a non-fat latte to limit fat and calories.

Cayenne Chili Pepper

Shaking hot chili powder on food may help prevent a spike in insulin levels after meals. A small study in Australia showed that simply adding chili to a hamburger meal produced lower insulin levels in overweight volunteers.
Tip:
Chili powder is a blend of five spices, while dried chili pepper comes from a single hot pepper. Both are good substitutes for salt in recipes.

Kosher Salt

This may be worth a try for people trying to control high blood pressure. It has half the sodium of table salt, thanks to its large crystals. You'll still need to measure carefully; a teaspoon of Kosher salt has 1,120 milligrams of sodium — not too far below the 1,500-milligram daily limit for people with hypertension.
Tip:
Mix with your favorite herbs for a homemade, low-salt spice blend.

Cherries

Cherries are packed with anthocyanins, an antioxidant believed to help protect blood vessels. Cherries in any form provide these heart-healthy nutrients: the larger heart-shaped sweet cherries, the sour cherries used for baking, as well as dried cherries and cherry juice.
Tip:
Sprinkle dried cherries into cereal, muffin batter, green salads and wild rice.

Blueberries
The list of healthy nutrients in blueberries is extensive: anthocyanins give them their deep blue color and support heart health. Blueberries also contain ellagic acid, beta-carotene, lutein, vitamin C, folate, magnesium, potassium, and fiber.
Tip:
Add fresh or dried blueberries to cereal, pancakes, or yogurt. Puree a batch for a dessert sauce.

An Open Letter: SHARING THE BURDEN OF MOTHER DEAR

LET'S KEEP IT SIMPLE SIS.

Firstly you think that just because i agreed to pay 50% of dear mother's medical and household "outgoings" it's a done deal.

You know why you silly lame cow? How to calculate? Okay, Okay, it's the bright new world, one can pin any bits of cost on any body or any country. the United Arabian Emirates want Israel back. Argentina would love to welcome the people of the Falklands home. and so on.

I digress.

Ya, I saw your detailed bill which notes down to a thermo pot of $99.90. Brilliant work.

Here's my partial bill to you:

1. At least 5 years of loan payments to mum's house. Let's say $500 a month. That's 60 x 500 = $30,000. You owe me $15,000 for starters. And we are not even counting the yearly assessment and quit rent payments.

2. That air con you've been enjoying? $1,200. You owe me another $600.

3. You were not at Dad's funeral. so you saved yourself an air flight. But I had to make the journey. Can we share my mileage and toll costs with you? I had to fetch the grand daughter too. Does that count?

4. All the incident medical fess for mum's back pain - let's say $2,000. You owe me another $1,000. Can i charge the petrol to take her there? Never mind, I'll absorb that.

5. That cordless phone you asked me to buy? You never did pay me the 50% right? $275. So, please cough up another $137,50.

6. All the Chinese New Year celebration foodies. Let's say a miserable $300 a year. 30+ years, that'll be $9,000. Another $4,500 for me. Yay.

7. Transportation costs during the CNY period. No need to count lah. Free.

8. Cleaning cobwebs just now. $150. That's $75 for me. Oh, you mopped the house so minus $50. I watered the plants, so $10 back to me.

Getting kinda silly isn't it?

Look, you are single. No dependents. You da big sista, you pay for every thing lah.

What you gonna do if I don't contribute a single red cent? Sue me?

So sorry lah for calling you a lame cow and a calculating bitch. I'm a loser. And you're a fucking righteous winner goody goody. And I'll go straight to hell. So what?

Actually I was wrong: you are not a lame cow; you are a dumb ox. Me is a horny monkey with a red-hot ass on fire with a chicken-backside motor mouth.

So like that lah.

You have a nice gay life with your partner you hear?

I gotta go and play my part as a loser...

Tropical fish used in drug smuggling operation

Thousands of aquarium fish have been killed as unwitting pawns in a drug smuggling operation that was foiled.

Olaf Urlik and Norbert Jarzabek, both originally from Poland, have been jailed for 11 years each after they were found guilty of trying to smuggle 17 kg of cocaine, worth an estimated £1.6m at wholesale, from Colombia into the UK.

The cocaine was dissolved in bags of fluid and stored within larger bags of a live tropical fish consignment. More than 16,000 fish perished in the attempt, with the survivors now recuperating at the ZSL London Zoo.

In a trial run carried out in April last year, the two men left a similar number of tropical fish to die after they collected a previous consignment at Heathrow and abandoned the fish to die in a lock up garage in Islington, London.

Confident that they would succeed after this rehearsal, the two men plotted for the cocaine to be hidden in a similar shipment of 25 boxes of live tropical fish arriving in July. Unbeknown to them, officials from the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) were aware of their plot and, together with the UK Border Agency, scanned the shipment, where they found cocaine in 10 of the boxes.

After leaving the shipment at the airport for two days, the two men collected the fish and drove to a flat in Nottingham, where police arrested them 90 minutes after their arrival.

The long period of neglect had caused many of the fish to perish from a lack of oxygen, and only 41 were still alive at that point. SOCA contacted experts at ZSL London Zoo to look after the survivors, although seven more fish died subsequently.

The 34 survivors, including catfish, arowana, tetras and stingrays, will remain at the zoo.

According to Gerry Smyth from SOCA: "These two were exceptionally callous. They used living creatures as a test run and then effectively as packaging for their drugs, seeing only the profits they would make. SOCA is grateful to the expert teams at ZSL London Zoo who helped us out in this very unusual case."

"Despite the awful way that they came about being here, we are pleased to say that the fish are now thriving at ZSL London Zoo’s Aquarium. When we first got the fish, most of them were drastically underweight, and they’d been living in cold, dirty water for days," added Rachel Jones from the ZSL London Zoo.

Replying to a "copywriter" ad

Dear Advertiser,

Your recruitment ad is brilliant. You think your bait is the challenge to ask anyone to write a better ad.

Well, unlike rocket science, just about anyone can write a better ad than yours. All anyone needs to do is to offer a great working environment with an equally great pay (not expected pay!).

Because, anyone who is a good-enough talent knows that you will never be at the top of your game, as far as creativity is concerned. You are only as good as your last campaign. The ad business is a cruel one. Agency folks die off like flies (they change industry...I know an art director who switched to being a dog groomer - up to this day, he's still a happy trooper).

And reality check: no client will swarm to you. Clients do not know what they want. But demand more. Pay you less (or later). Yet scream to have it by yesterday. That's the real ad world.

The energy in an agency is only as good as the leader managing the joint. This could be anyone. . . depends on the culture of the agency.

Now, let's get to the creative writer animal. Firstly, creativity is over-rated. It is only creative when it sells. Or when the Client thinks so (always depends on the fee charged). Or when whoever is in charge (back in the agency) says so.

So. If I were to write your ad to attract creative talent, I will definitely paint a positive picture of how your agency has got your act together. Everybody supports everybody. No politicking. Everybody is self-motivated. Ideally, it won't even be like working.

When you love what you do, you won't have to work a day in your life!

All that stuff about working hard and impossible deadlines are prerequisites. Anybody who is anybody will already know that. All creative people know that.

You boldly state that you are an established - yes since 1997 - as well as an award-winning advertising and IT agency.

Yet you do not understand your consumer (prospective employee). The real advertising business is harder than rocket science. Attracting quality talent to work with and for you is doubly hard.

So, happy hunting!

BTW, with reference to your quote: "Creative advertising is not rocket science, it's about understanding consumer's needs". . . is hilarious if not pathetic. Let me ask you, what if you understood the consumer's needs? Does it mean you can automatically churn out creative advertising campaigns to persuade them to buy your client's product/service? It's only the first step...!

I better stop here before I blow your scam.

Your partner in crime,

bakar merah*
