- So you travel the world, stay at the best hotels and meet interesting people along the way. But, apart from being in it for the glamorous side, you take the opportunity to learn more about others, their struggles in life and use every single opportunity you have to learn from their experience. Especially the kind that makes you feel a vast sense of gratitude for everything you are blessed with.
- You are a firm believer of when you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. Sounds simple. But it is easier said than done and the moment you master it, it will feel like an achievement. This is a crucial trait to have in order for you to keep your job.
- Keep your EQ level in check, all the time. Okay fine. Most of the time. The moment you are in uniform, bear in mind that no one cares about the crappy day you had. No one. Save the whining.
- ‘Prim and Proper’ should be your middle name. No LOLs in public. No tantrums even when things do not work in your favour.
- Do not judge others. The word ‘hate’ should not be in your dictionary. That woman who just shouted at you for wishing her ‘good morning’ had probably just lost her kids in a custody battle. Sometimes, it is not all about you. So stop taking things too personally.
- Never compromise your bedtime. Catch up on sleep whenever you can. Take your time to relax. If you are into hardcore partying, this is not the job for you. Do us all a favour by calling in sick post-party and not turning up looking like Courtney Love.
Last but not least, being a flight attendant is not all about looking pretty and jet-setting across the globe. A great flight attendant is someone who can always relate to the public even at the worst ever situation and lend a helping hand by going beyond expectations.
And if you can always smile from the heart, that would be a bonus!
